Helen Foot is currently part of the Crafts Council UKs HOTHOUSE 2011 scheme for emerging makers. She runs Helen Foot Design alongside being an Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design and curating exhibitions.

Helen graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters in woven textiles in 2010. With a mixture of industry and self set projects she developed her sense of colour and personal style, creating fabrics predominantly for fashion.

She has previously done freelance designing for Alexander McQueen and Paul Smith, been the Studio Manager for Wallace Sewell and a Freelance weaver for Salt.

Over the years, Helen has done work placements for Ardalanish, Isle of Mull Weavers (2010), Holbrook Studios (2007), Wallace Sewell (2005 & 2006) and Margo Selby (2004).

Helen gained a BA Hons in textiles from Winchester School of Art (University of Southampton) in 2005.

She received sponsorship for her studies from the Worshipful Company of Weavers and yarn sponsorship for her MA collection from Solbiati.
