Hothouse 2011
Helen was chosen to be part of the Crafts Council's Hothouse programme 2011 for emerging designer / makers. She is one of 28 makers from across the UK to be selected for the tailor-made programme of focussed, intensive business skills and creative development, complimented with 1:1 support over a six month period.
Hothouse aims
-To develop a national scheme profiling and supporting up to 40 of the most promising new makers each year
-To develop a programme that places business acumen and creative development on an equal footing
-To provide opportunities for emerging makers to test directions and develop options to inform the growth of their practice
-To add Crafts Council value and support to the programmes of other CPD agencies
-To profile models of practice and career routes to aspiring makers.
-To share good models of practice
